eConfirm is pleased to announce Public Bank Berhad (PBB) and Public Islamic Bank Berhad’s (PIBB) successful onboarding to the platform. PBB and PIBB are ready to accept electronic bank confirmation requests as of 2 March 2023.
With the above development, manual bank confirmation requests submitted to the branches of PBB and PIBB will no longer be accepted for processing effective from the issuance date of this notice, i.e. 23 March 2023. However, confirmation requests for audit of government agencies by Jabatan Audit Negara, audits of foreign companies by foreign auditors and non-business entities, may still be sent to the domicile branch where the account(s) are maintained.
By participating in eConfirm, auditors will only need to submit one request letter for multiple facilities maintained in multiple branches of PBB and PIBB nationwide. Please be reminded not to send multiple requests for different facilities maintained in different bank branches when submitting online requests through eConfirm. As for multiple year end confirmations, only one request letter is required and the platform will auto-populate into the appropriate number of requests based on the financial year ends selected in eConfirm.
If your firm has yet to register with eConfirm, please fill up the registration form and email the duly completed form to [email protected]. Once registered, complimentary training will be provided to audit staff before your firm can create firm’s and clients’ profile for submission of bank confirmation requests through eConfirm.
